Configuring workspace settings
Workspace configuration
Workspace settings control the global preferences for your Seamline account. This includes your business name, logo, default currency, timezone, and other operational defaults that apply across the workspace.
To configure workspace settings:
- Navigate to Settings > Workspace.
- Update your business name and upload a logo.
- Set your default currency and timezone.
- Configure your business address (used on quotes and invoices).
- Click "Save Changes" to apply.
Your workspace logo appears on customer-facing documents like quotes and order confirmations. Use a high-resolution version for the best appearance.
Managing your profile
Profile settings
Your profile settings are personal to your account and apply across all workspaces. You can update your name, email, avatar, and password from this page.
To update your profile:
- Click your avatar in the bottom-left corner of the sidebar.
- Select "Profile Settings" from the menu.
- Update your name, email, or avatar.
- To change your password, click "Change Password" and follow the prompts.
- Click "Save" to apply changes.
Enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account. You can set it up from the Security section of your profile.
Setting notification preferences
Notification settings
Seamline sends notifications for important events like new orders, design approvals, quote responses, and team mentions. You can customize which notifications you receive via email and in-app alerts.
To configure notifications:
- Navigate to Settings > Notifications.
- Review each notification category (Orders, Designs, Quotes, Team).
- Toggle email and in-app notifications on or off for each event type.
- Set a daily digest preference if you prefer a summary instead of individual alerts.
- Click "Save Preferences" to apply.
If you find yourself getting too many notifications, start by turning off in-app alerts for routine events and keeping email alerts only for critical items like order issues and design approvals.
Custom domain configuration
Custom domain overview
Custom domains let your team stores and customer-facing pages (quotes, order tracking) appear under your own domain instead of a seamline.com subdomain. This creates a more professional, branded experience for your customers.
Setting up a custom domain
To configure a custom domain:
- Navigate to Settings > Domain.
- Enter the domain you want to use (e.g., store.yourbrand.com).
- Seamline will provide DNS records that you need to add to your domain registrar.
- Log in to your domain registrar (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, etc.) and add the provided CNAME or A records.
- Return to Seamline and click "Verify Domain" — this may take up to 24 hours for DNS propagation.
- Once verified, SSL is automatically provisioned and your custom domain is live.
If verification takes longer than 24 hours, double-check that the DNS records were entered correctly. A common mistake is including the root domain in the CNAME record when only the subdomain is needed.
